A couple recent photos of our two youngest. They sure grow so fast.

We were recently contacted by a local musician, Kristen, who wanted to have some music related photos done. A friend of ours, who does some music production, agreed to let me use his basement studio for the shoot, and here are a few samples from our 90 minute session there. Thanks to all involved for the time and space used.

And a shot of Kristen and I during the setup:

From a recent session with the Bender family in PA. This was our second session with them, and they are always so full of energy!
And she’s quite the cutie, eh?

From now until December 15th, we are running a special on Holiday portrait sessions. For $125, you will receive:
Also, if you refer a friend and they book a session, you will receive a $25 print credit.
Sessions can be held at your home, at an outdoor location, or in our studio (currently being remodeled, but is functional).
Contact us with any more questions or to book your session!

I recently had the chance to visit with family and friends in South Carolina. While I was there, a high school friend had asked me to do some outdoor family portraits at one of the local parks. The late changing of the leaves made for some nice backdrops and was an all around great day.
Above is three generations of those gals. Thanks so much for letting us capture some family moments for you.
Jennifer and Zack had contacted us this past spring about possibly shooting their wedding. After our initial consultation, it was a done deal.
The wedding was this past Saturday, and after a couple of scares from the rain, we had a fantastic day.
Congratulations to Jennifer and Zack, and we hope they had a fantastic honeymoon.

Our brides are tough!

We were recently contacted by Kirsten, who was looking to have some shots done on a local farm in Elkton, Maryland. Personally, I love shooting on farms, especially when we have access to a barn.
Here are a few previews from her session.

And in between shooting, she even was patient enough to allow me to grab some film shots with my Canon AE-1 (which still continues to impress me).

Brande received a call from a family friend who we have shot for in the past asking if we could do a shoot on short notice. As it turns out, her horse Whisper, who is 32 years old does not have a lot of time left and she wanted some portraits with her and “the old man”.
Lighting a horse is something I have not done before, and always willing to help out a friend, we were over there two days later.
Here are a couple of preview shots from our time there.
It was a bittersweet shoot, but we are certainly glad she loved the photos and has some to remember him by. And he was as great for the camera.
Recently, myself and a photographer friend held a small lighting and head shot demonstration together with one of our more reliable models Lacey.
He started off by showing the effects of a hot light shot through a large diffusion panel and how the light and shadows fell as a result. Here is a shot of mine using this setup:
Afterward, we left the diffusion panel up and I demonstrated a one light setup, using an Alien Bees AB800 in a softbox with the diffusion panel acting as a large reflector:
All in all, it was a great session. We both learned a lot, walked away with some fantastic shots, and gave Lacey more portfolio fillers. Win-win for everyone.
